23 Sep Coping with Dry Skin In All Weathers

How to hydrate your skin

With our ever-changing UK weather, it’s no wonder why our skin suffers over the course of the year. Protecting our skin is not only important to prevent ageing but also to help cope with skin complications such as dry skin.

The wind, rain and sun play a huge part in skin damage and in turn, not only result in physical changes, but can also result in low levels of self-esteem.

Our face is what people see first, dry patches, eczema and spots can make us feel self-conscious.

Dealing with skin problems can be as simple as investing in a good moisturiser and spending some time each day to take care of your skin by following a simple regime.

Another reason our skin can break down is because we may be applying heavy chemicals to it and our skin isn’t built for such trauma. Some key factors to consider when choosing an effective moisturiser would be for it to be free from the following harsh chemicals: Parabens, Fragrances, Colours, SLS, & Halogens.

How to hydrate your skinThe AproDerm® range is free from Parabens, Halogens, SLS, Colours and Fragrances, making the complete range great for everyday use, for all the family, from birth.

Focusing on a skincare regime for your face can feel challenging with our busy daily lives. But I have put together a simple daily routine that is effective enough to protect your skin if you suffer from Eczema, Psoriasis and other dry skin conditions.

This can be done throughout the year to maintain healthy skin.

Morning:
Wash face, cleanse and tone with gentle products. AproDerm® Colloidal Oat Cream and AproDerm® Emollient Cream are great cleansers to use, make sure whichever cleansers you use to always pat your face dry to avoid stretching the skin – especially under the eye area. Finish by applying your chosen daily AproDerm® moisturiser.

Evening:
Before heading off to bed, remove make up by thoroughly washing your face with warm water. It’s not always necessary to cleanse again, but I always moisturise before bed. Ensuring your skin is clean and free from the day’s dirt and grime can prevent your pores from clogging. Using an emollient will aid in soothing the skin, especially if it’s a non-cosmetic moisturiser that doesn’t contain any fragrance, as ingredients in fragrances can cause delicate areas of our skin to react and flare up.

AproDerm® can also be used on other areas of the body, affected by Dry skin, Eczema and/or Psoriasis. Always do a patch test when using new products by testing on a small area and leaving for 48 hours, if there is no reaction, then proceed to use as required.

We would love to hear from you.
